Nissan launches Tekton SUV as Kia teases Sorento in India

Nissan Motor India reported a 218% year‑on‑year increase in July 2026 wholesale sales after launching the Nissan Tekton SUV, a RENO Duster‑based model. Deliveries began on July 20, with total wholesale units reaching 9,339 (4,518 domestic, 4,821 export). Managing Director Saurabh Vats said the new model strengthens the brand’s midsize SUV portfolio.

Kia India released a teaser featuring the Italian town of Sorento, hinting at an upcoming Kia Sorento SUV for the Indian market. The teaser suggests a high‑priced, possibly hybrid powertrain with a 1.6‑litre turbo engine delivering 238 hp, 6‑ or 7‑seat configurations, and premium features such as a 12.3‑inch screen, panoramic sunroof, and Level‑2 ADAS. The model would compete with the Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq, and Volkswagen Teramont.
