Nissan launches Tekton SUV to target India's premium mid-size segment
Nissan is introducing the Tekton to the Indian mid-size SUV market as part of a strategic shift toward a ‘value-premium’ approach. Built on the CMF-B platform shared with the Renault Duster, the Tekton aims to differentiate itself through a ‘Premium Robust’ design philosophy inspired by the Nissan Patrol.
The vehicle is positioned to compete with established models like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. It offers two engine options: a 1.0L Turbo-Petrol and a 1.3L Turbo-Petrol producing 163PS and 280Nm. Key features include 212mm of ground clearance, a 518-liter boot capacity, and a 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating with six standard airbags. Pricing for the Tekton ranges from ₹10.49 lakh to ₹18.59 lakh (ex-showroom).
