Nissan Spain outlines electrification strategy for Andalusia

Nissan Spain CEO Christian Costaganna presented the company's "Nissan Vision" electrification plan in Seville, highlighting Andalusia as a key region for accelerating electric mobility in Spain. He warned that growth depends on improved charging infrastructure and a stable regulatory framework.

The strategy emphasizes software‑defined vehicles and integration with the energy system through bidirectional charging, V2X, V2G and V2H technologies, as well as battery‑reuse initiatives. Nissan’s e‑Power hybrid system already accounts for about 60% of Qashqai sales in Spain.

Nissan plans to rationalise its model range from 56 to 45 vehicles, organise models into four families (Heartbeat, Core, Growth, Partner), and achieve a fully electrified line‑up in Europe before 2030. An industrial reorganisation aims to cut development time by up to 40%, reduce part counts and component complexity, and boost plant utilisation. The accompanying Re:Nissan recovery plan targets cost savings of roughly €2.7 billion (¥500 billion).
