Nissan surpasses 1.25 million electrified vehicle sales in Europe

Nissan announced that cumulative sales of electrified vehicles in Europe have exceeded 1.25 million units since the launch of the Leaf in 2010. About 350,000 of those are pure‑electric models, confirming the Japanese automaker’s leading position in the continent’s EV market.

At a recent event in Barcelona the company showcased its expanded EV lineup, featuring the all‑electric Micra, the third‑generation Leaf, an upgraded Ariya and an X‑Trail equipped with e‑Power hybrid technology. Nissan said a new A‑segment electric model will be added later this year, with a fully electric Juke slated for early 2027.

According to ACEA data, electric and hybrid cars made up 61.3 % of new vehicle registrations in the EU in 2025, while hybrids captured a 34.5 % market share, the highest among buyer preferences.
