Nissan Pixo announced as new affordable electric city car

Nissan has announced the return of the ‘Pixo’ name for its upcoming all-electric A-segment city car, designed specifically for the European market. The model is scheduled for an official debut on September 23, 2026, with sales expected to begin in the new year or by 2027.

Developed through the Renault-Nissan Alliance, the Pixo will utilize the Renault AmpR Small platform, sharing its technical underpinnings with the Renault Twingo E-Tech and the Dacia Spring. This strategic collaboration aims to reduce development costs by sharing architecture and manufacturing. The vehicle is slated to be produced at the Renault Revoz plant in Novo Mesto, Slovenia.

While full technical specifications remain unconfirmed, industry reports suggest the Pixo will feature a front-mounted electric motor producing approximately 80 hp and a 27.5 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery. This setup is expected to provide a range of roughly 250 to 263 kilometers under the WLTP cycle. The car is positioned as an affordable entry point into Nissan’s electric lineup, with anticipated starting prices below 20,000 euros.
