Nissan unveils Tekton SUV teaser ahead of July 9 global launch

Nissan has released a new teaser for the upcoming Tekton midsize SUV, confirming a worldwide debut on July 9. The preview highlights a square‑shaped front grille with a full‑width LED strip, muscular body lines and C‑shaped LED tail‑lamps, drawing design comparisons to the larger Patrol – the company even refers to the Tekton as a “Baby Patrol.”

Built on the Renault‑Nissan CMF‑B platform shared with the Renault Duster, the Tekton is expected to offer 1.0‑litre and 1.3‑litre turbo‑petrol engines (approximately 100 hp and 163 hp) paired with a 6‑speed manual, with the larger unit also available with a 7‑speed dual‑clutch automatic. Nissan is also studying a hybrid power‑train option. Planned equipment includes a 10.1‑inch touchscreen, panoramic sunroof, connected‑car features and Level‑2 ADAS. Pricing will likely sit near the Duster, positioning the Tekton against competitors such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun and others in the Indian market.
