Nissan unveils Z Kaze Concept prototype with custom T-top roof
Nissan has unveiled the Z Kaze Concept, a one-off prototype based on the Fairlady Z, at the Z Car Club Association’s annual ZCON event. The name ‘Kaze’ is derived from the Japanese word for ‘wind,’ highlighting the vehicle’s most distinctive feature: a custom-designed T-top roof intended to evoke the open-air driving experience of previous Z generations.
Designed by Nissan’s product planners and designers, the concept pays homage to 1990s tuning culture and the brand’s convertible heritage. The exterior features a ‘Pacific Teal’ color scheme, a lightweight vented carbon fiber hood, flared fenders, and a custom carbon fiber aerodynamic body kit. It sits on restored 18-inch NISMO LMGT2 wheels.
The interior is equipped with custom white leather seats and Bose personal plus headrest speakers to enhance the open-air experience. Performance enhancements include a 3.0L V6 twin-turbo engine outfitted with GReddy components, such as a Supreme SP exhaust system, a front-mount air-to-air intercooler kit, and an air links air filter kit, alongside NISMO suspension components.
