NITDA promotes global AI cybersecurity collaboration and tech innovation

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) is advocating for increased international cooperation to combat cyber threats driven by artificial intelligence. During a press conference in Abuja, NITDA Director-General Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi warned that AI has made cyberattacks more sophisticated, particularly through social engineering, deepfakes, and the potential hijacking of automated AI agents.

In a separate initiative, NITDA is partnering with the SATH Foundation to develop a technology innovation ecosystem in Nigeria. Through the TechOutlook 2026 pilot report, the collaboration aims to identify technological gaps in five key sectors: financial services, telecommunications, commerce and trade, government services, and healthcare. The goal is to create ecosystem intelligence that can guide government policy, attract investors, and enhance Nigeria's global competitiveness.
