Niterói and CAF negotiate US$ 70 million urban resilience project
The city of Niterói and the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF) are advancing negotiations for an urban resilience project estimated at US$ 70 million. The proposal includes the creation of a Resilience and Intelligent Operations Center in the city.
Discussions regarding the project took place during the Regional Dialogue on Governance and Development held in Niterói on August 25 and 26. The event, promoted by CAF and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), brought together mayors and governors from ten countries to discuss strengthening local government capacities in Latin America and the Caribbean.
While officials noted progress in the dialogue, the financing has not yet been formally approved. Details regarding the specific stages of the operation, municipal counterpart funding, and the exact breakdown of the estimated US$ 70 million remain unconfirmed.
