Niterói Mayor highlights Reviver Centro urban revitalization progress

Niterói Mayor Rodrigo Neves highlighted the progress of the ‘Reviver Centro’ program during the BandNews Reviver Centro Niterói Forum. The initiative aims to transform the city's central region through urban revitalization, economic development, and improved housing, with a long-term goal of attracting 40,000 residents to the area.

Neves noted that the central district has seen significant growth, including the highest rental appreciation in 2025 and a high concentration of the 8,400 new companies established in the city last year. Key infrastructure improvements mentioned include the creation of Arariboia and Visconde do Rio Branco squares, renovations on Avenida Amaral Peixoto, the inauguration of Arena Niterói, and the Cantareira Innovation District.

The program is part of the ‘Niterói Que Queremos’ strategic plan, which includes guidelines through 2050. Discussions at the forum also touched upon future projects, such as a planned convention center near Caminho Niemeyer in partnership with Fecomércio.
