Mayor Rodrigo Neves inaugurated two major urbanization projects in Niterói's Região Oceânica, totaling R$ 240.6 million. The Engenho do Mato phase, funded with R$ 167.7 million, upgraded over 100 streets, installing 39 km of drainage, 207 000 m² of interlocking pavement, 1 141 m² of asphalt, sidewalks, curbs and 34.3 km of roads. The Maravista II phase, financed with R$ 72.9 million, covered 24 streets, adding drainage networks, asphalt paving, sidewalks and curbs. The works were executed by the Empresa de Infraestrutura e Obras de Niterói (ION) and form part of a broader municipal program that has delivered more than 750 infrastructure improvements over the past ten years. Neves highlighted that the projects will improve quality of life for thousands of families and raise property values, while Executive Secretary Felipe Peixoto called the delivery a historic milestone for the region.
