Nitin Gadkari clarifies remarks amid political retirement speculation

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has issued a clarification following widespread speculation that his recent remarks signaled a retirement from active politics. During an event in Nagpur, Gadkari stated that he could no longer work as much as he once did and suggested that the younger generation should be given the opportunity to take on more responsibilities.

His office clarified that these comments were not intended to address his political future or a potential Union Cabinet reshuffle. Instead, the remarks were specifically directed at the Laxmanrao Mankar Trust, an organization Gadkari founded that operates Ekal Vidyalayas (one-teacher schools) in tribal areas. He noted that he has reduced his involvement in the trust's daily operations to allow new leadership to emerge while the older generation provides guidance.

The speculation arose amid broader discussions regarding organizational changes within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and potential shifts in the Prime Minister's Cabinet. Gadkari also touched upon personal health and his commitment to development in Maharashtra, specifically aiming to ensure electricity reaches all tribal villages.
