Nitin Gadkari reviews Madhya Pradesh highway projects

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav held a high-level review meeting in Bhopal to expedite National Highway projects across the state. During the meeting, Gadkari ordered the immediate suspension of toll collection at the Shahpura toll plaza in Jabalpur due to damage to the Shahpura Rail Over Bridge, which has disrupted traffic.

The review covered several key infrastructure developments, including the Sandalpur-Nasrullaganj bypass, the Ujjain-Jhalawar four-lane project, and the Jabalpur-Lakhnadon-Raipur greenfield expressway. Gadkari emphasized the need for timely completion, prioritizing construction quality, road safety, and efficient land acquisition and forest clearance processes.

Additionally, Gadkari participated in the launch of the ‘Mukhyamantri Sugam Parivahan Seva’ scheme. This initiative involved flagging off 351 intercity and intracity buses across seven cities, including Indore, Bhopal, and Jabalpur, with the goal of providing modern and safe transport facilities to 75 per cent of gram panchayats in the state.
