Nišville Jazz Festival celebrates global jazz and local rock
The 32nd Nišville Jazz Festival in Niš, Serbia, features a diverse lineup spanning jazz fusion, rock, and global rhythms. The penultimate evening highlighted a blend of jazz, hip-hop, soul, and African rhythms, headlined by The Amy Winehouse Band—composed of musicians who performed with the late singer—and the Japanese collective Kyoto Jazz Massive.
Other notable performances included the international trio Afro Gitano, which fuses African rhythms with Balkan Romani melodies, and the Slovenian Bend-it! Orchestra. The festival also showcased the Czech group Deaf Platypus.
The final night of the festival is dedicated to the Niš rock and roll scene, featuring four generations of local bands including Daltoni, Galija, Lavina, and Bohemija. This closing program serves as an homage to the development of the regional rock scene over the past half-century.
