No Man's Sky celebrates 10 years with new Cosmos update announcement
Hello Games is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its space exploration title, No Man's Sky. Originally launched in August 2016 to significant criticism regarding missing features and technical issues, the game has undergone a major redemption through approximately 40 large-scale, free updates. These expansions have introduced base building, multiplayer, new creatures, and various vehicles, transforming the game into a highly regarded title in the genre.
Studio founder Sean Murray noted that despite a decade of play and millions of hours logged by the community, players have explored less than 1% of the procedurally generated universe. To mark the milestone, Hello Games announced an upcoming major update titled ‘Cosmos’.
While the team continues to support No Man's Sky, they are also progressing on their next project, a fantasy survival game titled Light No Fire. Murray emphasized a commitment to providing content without charging for DLC or microtransactions, a philosophy that has helped rebuild player trust over the last decade.
