Noi Bai Airport Implements New Traffic Flow for Taxis and Ride‑Hailing from Aug 3
From 07:00 local time on 3 August 2026, Noi Bai International Airport will enforce a new traffic‑lane plan at both the domestic terminal (T1) and the international terminal (T2). Traditional taxis licensed by the airport will pick up passengers in designated lanes—lane 2 at T1 and lane 4 at T2—while yellow‑badge ride‑hailing vehicles under nine seats will be directed to separate parking bays (P2 at T1, P1 or P7 at T2). Personal cars under nine seats will use other bays (P1 at T1, P3 at T2) and must follow specific lane routes depending on the access bridge (Nhật Tân or Thăng Long). All vehicles are limited to a maximum stop of five minutes and drivers may not leave the vehicle for more than two metres.
The scheme, coordinated by the airport authority and the airport police, aims to ease localized congestion, improve safety and create a more orderly flow of traffic. It is part of the implementation of Decision 1066/QĐ‑TTg issued by the Vietnamese Prime Minister to develop the airport into a secure, smart and passenger‑friendly hub. The airport will issue detailed visual guides for each vehicle class to help drivers comply with the new layout.
