Noi Bai Airport Introduces Separate Immigration Lane for Vietnamese Citizens
From 2 August, Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport began operating a dedicated immigration lane for Vietnamese citizens at Terminal 2, alongside a separate lane for foreign travelers. The change, modeled on practices at major airports worldwide, cuts processing time from up to an hour to about four‑five minutes during peak periods.
Starting 3 August, the airport also re‑organized passenger pick‑up zones: traditional taxis now use lane 2 at Terminal 1 and lane 4 at Terminal 2, while ride‑hailing vehicles such as Grab and Xanh SM are directed to designated parking areas (P2 at T1, P1 or P7 at T2). The new layout aims to ease congestion and improve traffic flow around the terminals. Passengers have reported faster clearance and smoother airport navigation.
Airport officials say the measures streamline passenger flow, reduce local traffic bottlenecks, and enhance the overall travel experience for both domestic and international travelers.
