Noida advances elevated road and noise barrier projects
Noida is advancing several infrastructure projects aimed at improving traffic flow and reducing noise pollution. IIT Roorkee has completed the alignment report for a proposed 5.5-kilometer elevated road that will connect Sector-3 to Sector-60. This project is intended to alleviate increasing traffic pressure on major routes and provide a faster alternative for commuters.
Separately, the Noida Authority has issued tenders to install sound barriers along an existing 4.8-kilometer elevated road stretching from Sector-28 to the Sector 61-66 intersection. The project, estimated to cost approximately 18 crore rupees, will cover 9.6 kilometers of barrier installation on both sides of the road. This initiative aims to mitigate noise pollution for residents in nearby sectors, including Sectors 23, 24, 26, 27, 28, 33, 51, and 61, as well as local schools and hospitals.
