Noida urban and industrial development

Overview

Noida is undertaking various infrastructure and urban development initiatives to manage growth and industrial demand.

Initial efforts focus on transportation and environmental mitigation, including a proposed 5.5-kilometer elevated road connecting Sector-3 to Sector-60 and the installation of sound barriers along an existing 4.8-kilometer elevated road to reduce noise pollution for nearby residents, schools, and hospitals.

To address the fact that nearly 90% of existing developable land has been utilized, the Noida Authority is launching the ‘New Noida’ project. This 20,000-hectare greenfield expansion aims to accommodate rising industrial demand and is projected to create between 500,000 and 600,000 jobs by 2030. Additionally, the state government is considering increasing the floor area ratio in established sectors to allow for higher development density.
