Noida to expand industrial capacity via 20,000-hectare New Noida project
The Noida Authority is initiating the ‘New Noida’ project, a major greenfield expansion covering approximately 20,000 hectares. This move comes as nearly 90% of the existing developable land in the industrial township has already been utilized.
According to Noida Authority CEO Krishan Karunesh, land acquisition will be conducted in phases to accommodate rising industrial demand and attract new investments. The expansion is projected to generate between 500,000 and 600,000 direct and indirect jobs by 2030.
To address immediate needs while the new expansion progresses, the state government is exploring policies to increase the floor area ratio (FAR) in established areas. This would allow for higher development density and vertical growth within existing sectors.
