Nolan Wells family subpoenas social media firms for digital evidence
Christine Wonsley, the mother of 18-year-old Nolan Wells, has issued subpoenas to several major social media and technology companies to obtain digital evidence regarding her son’s death. The legal action seeks records from Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Snapchat, TikTok, and Life360, including messages, photos, videos, GPS location data, and timestamps.
Wells’ body was discovered on July 6 following his disappearance during a Fourth of July celebration on Horn Island, Mississippi. The family’s legal team is investigating potential deletions of data from Wells’ phone, noting that certain messages and Snapchat content appeared to be missing when the device was recovered.
While authorities have stated there was no initial indication of a crime and suspect Wells may have drowned, the investigation remains ongoing.
