Nollywood Cultural Heritage Festival to be held in Abuja

The 14th Nollywood Cultural Heritage Festival (NCHF) is scheduled to take place from October 22 to October 24 at the FCT Exhibition Pavilion in Abuja. Themed ‘Preserving African Heritage Through Film, Culture, Tourism and Creative Enterprise,’ the event aims to honor stakeholders and enthusiasts who promote and preserve Nigerian heritage across various sectors.

Organized by NCHF President and Founder Agility Onwurah, the festival will feature a diverse program including an African Fashion Runway showcasing traditional Nigerian attire, an African Food Fest, cultural dances, film screenings, and comedy performances. The opening day will include ‘Egwu Onwa’ (Moonlight Night), a live music and traditional activity event held in partnership with the Abuja Resident Musicians Association.

In addition to cultural displays, the festival will present awards for excellence in film and directing. Onwurah noted that while the festival remains free to encourage broad participation, securing consistent funding remains a significant challenge, as the event has historically relied on personal funds and partnerships.
