Nordex Group secures 34 MW repowering order in Hesse

The Nordex Group has secured a 34 MW order from EEF Erneuerbare Energien Fabrik GmbH for the Rauschenberg wind farm in Hesse, Germany. The project is a repowering initiative designed to replace five older wind turbines, which currently have a combined capacity of 3 MW, with five modern N175/6. X turbines. Each new turbine will have a capacity of 6.8 MW and will be installed on towers with a hub height of 199 metres.

This upgrade aims to significantly increase electricity production starting in summer 2028 by utilizing stronger and more consistent wind flows at higher altitudes. The contract also includes a 20-year Premium Service agreement. The project is intended to demonstrate how repowering established sites can maximize renewable energy yields and integrate wind power with agricultural land use.
