Noreen Niazi returned to jail after cardiac medical tests

Noreen Niazi, sister of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, has been transferred back to Kot Lakhpat Jail in Lahore following medical evaluations at the Punjab Institute of Cardiology. Niazi was moved to the hospital after reporting chest pain and high blood pressure.

Medical examinations, including an electrocardiogram and a Troponin-T test, yielded normal results, indicating no immediate signs of serious cardiac complications. Doctors determined that an angiography was not required, and her blood pressure was stabilized through medication.

In the Senate, Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry stated that the government is ensuring the health and welfare of detainees is protected and that medical decisions are being handled by professionals. Senator Azam Swati described the hospital transfer as a positive humanitarian step and urged the government to facilitate family visits for Niazi’s daughters.
