Norman Finkelstein says Israel fuels rise in global antisemitism
Political scientist Norman Finkelstein visited Brazil for the launch of his book "The Industry of the Holocaust" and told Brazilian media that Israel is “reaping what it has sowed.” He argued that the conflict in Gaza and the way some Jewish organizations suppress criticism have contributed to a surge in antisemitic incidents worldwide. Finkelstein also said that Israel frequently invokes the Holocaust to shield itself from criticism and to obtain legal and financial advantages. He noted that the International Criminal Court has issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and for leaders of Hamas, and questioned the double standards in how war crimes are judged. His remarks were published in Brazilian outlets and highlighted ongoing debates over the use of Holocaust memory in contemporary geopolitics.
