North Carolina couple found dead after Ohio police pursuit
A manhunt for a North Carolina couple ended in Ohio on Friday after a high-speed police pursuit resulted in the deaths of Camryn Moore, 26, and Cory Armstrong, 29.
The pursuit began following a shooting on Thursday morning at a home in Gastonia, North Carolina. Authorities reported that Victoria “Heather” Moore, 50, and Josiah Bumgardner, 38, were found dead at the scene. Two other individuals were transported to CaroMont Regional Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
The 20-minute chase in Ohio concluded near Athens when Moore veered her vehicle into a ditch to avoid spike strips. Both Moore and Armstrong were found dead in their car, and North Carolina authorities are investigating the deaths as a possible double-suicide.
