North Central Development Commission to unveil 20-year regional blueprint

The North Central Development Commission (NCDC) will host its inaugural North Central Stakeholders’ Development Summit on September 14–15, 2026, at the Abuja Continental Hotel. The event, themed ‘The Great Leap Forward: A 20-Year Economic, Infrastructural and Social Development Plan for the North Central Region,’ aims to establish a long-term strategic agenda for the area.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected to attend as the Distinguished Guest of Honour, with Vice President Kashim Shettima serving as the Special Guest. The summit will also feature former Nigerian Heads of State Yakubu Gowon, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, and Abdulsalami Abubakar.

Hosted by Nasarawa State Governor and Chairman of the North Central Governors’ Forum, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, the summit will convene a diverse group of participants, including political leaders, traditional rulers, technocrats, private sector representatives, and various community groups to deliberate on regional development.
