North Central Development Commission operations

Overview

The North Central Development Commission (NCDC) is initiating its strategic and operational foundations. The commission is scheduled to host its inaugural North Central Stakeholders’ Development Summit in Abuja on September 14–15, 2026. The summit, themed ‘The Great Leap Forward: A 20-Year Economic, Infrastructural and Social Development Plan for the North Central Region,’ seeks to establish a long-term strategic agenda involving political leaders, traditional rulers, and private sector representatives.

Simultaneously, the NCDC has begun remodeling its headquarters in Lafia, Nasarawa State, following a facility donation by the Nasarawa State Government. The remodeling project, estimated to cost over N400 million, is intended to provide office space for upcoming staff recruitment and create a functional working environment for the organization, which is currently 12 months old.
