North District Uniform Gang Enforcement Team launched in B.C

The North District Uniform Gang Enforcement Team (ND UGET) has been officially launched at the BC RCMP North District headquarters in Prince George. The new unit is designed to disrupt gang activity and support law enforcement across northern British Columbia, including regions such as the Cariboo and the Chilcotin.

Acting Officer in Charge of the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of British Columbia (CFSEU-BC), Supt. Ryan Element, stated that the team provides an important expansion of presence in the north. Previously, the Lower Mainland unit had conducted 39 deployments to northern communities between 2020 and summer 2026 to address organized crime and violence.

The dedicated team builds on previous enforcement successes. Between January 2023 and September 2025, related operations resulted in the seizure of over $1.2 million in illicit proceeds, 192 firearms, 194 kilograms of illegal drugs, 24 vehicles, and 1,415 additional weapons and components.
