North-East Romania to hold first regional exam simulations
Six counties in Romania's North-East region—Suceava, Botoșani, Neamț, Iași, Bacău, and Vaslui—will participate in a first-of-its-kind regional simulation for the National Evaluation and Baccalaureate exams. Scheduled for December 7–9, 2026, this single regional simulation replaces the previous format of two separate county-level simulations.
The decision to move to a regional format stems from a crowded educational calendar, specifically the ongoing competition for school director and deputy director positions. To ensure objective and impartial grading, student papers will be corrected by teachers from partner counties rather than their own. This process will be facilitated through the platform provided by the Ministry of Education and Research.
Each participating county will prepare a subject variant in coordination with inspectors, and one variant will be selected for use across all six counties. This initiative aims to familiarize students with the atmosphere and requirements of large-scale exams and provide a comparable view of preparation levels across the region before the official national simulations take place in March 2027.
