North Gyeongsang county heads lobby central and provincial officials for funding

The mayor of Seongju County traveled to the national government’s Sejong Complex, meeting Vice‑Prime Minister and Finance Minister Gu Yoon‑cheol and senior officials from the Planning and Budget Office, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, and the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. He presented proposals for the Seongju 3‑day industrial complex, a local basic income scheme and modernisation of the county’s melons and agricultural recycling system, seeking budget allocations and policy support.

A week earlier, the mayor of Uiseong County visited the Gyeongbuk provincial office and met Governor Lee Cheol‑woo. He urged the province to back sixteen major projects, including a forest‑investment hub, a new air‑logistics airport zone, a Daegu‑Gyeongbuk metropolitan transport network, and several infrastructure and tourism developments, requesting that these plans be reflected in government funding.

Both officials emphasized the need for persistent engagement with higher‑level authorities until their local development plans are incorporated into national and regional budgets.
