North Holland officials welcome national budget plans

The Provincial Executive of North Holland has expressed support for the national budget (Miljoenennota), noting that it offers perspective for regional challenges regarding housing, the power grid, and nitrogen emissions.

The province anticipates that €60 million allocated for the Groene Hart and Laag Holland regions will enable nature reinforcement and a reduction in nitrogen emissions, which is expected to facilitate the resumption of permit processing. Additionally, the province welcomes national focus on expanding the power grid to support housing, industrial sustainability, and economic growth. While acknowledging the budget's recognition of these needs, officials noted that significant work remains to address the competing demands for space in the densely populated province.
