Monsoon withdrawal brings heat and humidity to India

The southwest monsoon is withdrawing across several parts of India, including Delhi-NCR, Punjab, and Chhattisgarh. In Delhi-NCR, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) reports that the monsoon has completely withdrawn, leading to clear, sunny skies and a slight chill during mornings and evenings. However, daytime temperatures are expected to remain high, around 35-36 degrees Celsius, accompanied by significant humidity levels reaching up to 85 percent.

In addition to the heat and humidity, air quality in the Delhi region has entered the ‘moderate’ category, with AQI readings ranging between 140 and 200 in various areas.

In Chhattisgarh, signs of monsoon withdrawal are also appearing. While most districts have experienced dry weather and high temperatures, such as Rajnandgaon reaching 34.3 degrees Celsius, some areas like Bijapur have seen light rain. The region is transitioning toward drier conditions, though nighttime temperatures in hilly areas like Ambikapur remain slightly cooler.
