Indonesia advances healthcare through digital services and infrastructure

Indonesia is pursuing various strategies to improve healthcare accessibility and quality through digital innovation, infrastructure development, and research. In North Jakarta, BPJS Kesehatan has reported an 80 percent utilization rate for digital administration services and is expanding its mobile service units to reach residential areas and primary health facilities directly.

At the regional level, the Rembang Regency Government has proposed strategic improvements to the Ministry of Health, including the procurement of MRI machines, the construction of surgical and pediatric buildings at RSUD dr. R. Soetrasno, and the upgrading of Puskesmas Kragan 2 into a hospital to better serve the eastern region.

On a national scale, Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Stella Christie emphasized that large-scale healthcare requires a foundation of research and investment to ensure services are affordable and accurate. Meanwhile, the Nahdlatul Ulama Health Institute (LKNU) held a national forum in Jombang to coordinate health services and strengthen synergy with government programs such as BPJS Kesehatan and BPJS Ketenagakerjaan.
