North Jakarta fire crews extinguish house blaze and commercial fire in rapid response

A house on Jalan Melati in Sunter Agung, North Jakarta, caught fire on Sunday, July 12, 2026. The North Jakarta and Thousand Islands fire department (Gulkarmat) deployed four fire engines and 20 firefighters. The blaze was brought under control in about 29 minutes, with no reported injuries and the cause still under investigation.

Later that day, a fire erupted at the Mahkota Ancol commercial complex on Jalan Budi Mulia, also in North Jakarta. Gulkarmat sent five fire engines and 25 personnel to the scene. The unit began firefighting at 14:19 after the alarm at 14:15, and the incident remains in the cooling phase while investigators assess the cause.

Both incidents underscore the department's swift response to urban fires in the capital region.
