Kazakhstan oil terminal loading halted for Black Sea vessel safety

Loading of oil at the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) marine terminal in Kazakhstan has been temporarily suspended to ensure the safety of ships, crew and the environment in the Black Sea, the Ministry of Energy announced. The CPC pipeline, a 1,500‑km route that transports over 80 % of Kazakhstan’s oil exports, connects western oil fields to the Black Sea coast where cargo is loaded onto tankers. Major shareholders include Russia, Kazakhstan, Chevron, Shell and ExxonMobil. Officials said that production and technical facilities remain operational and will resume loading once the situation normalises.

The pause is a precautionary measure aimed at protecting maritime traffic in the Black Sea region, which is a key corridor for Kazakh oil reaching global markets.
