North Macedonia announces financial support for women farmers

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy has announced financial support measures for women in the agricultural sector in North Macedonia. Under Measure 115, titled ‘Support for an active female member in the agricultural household,’ women who are owners or members of registered agricultural holdings can apply for up to 360,000 denars.

These funds are intended for the procurement of equipment for processing and refining primary agricultural products, as well as services related to the implementation of business plans. Applications must be submitted in paper form to the Agency for Financial Support in Agriculture and Rural Development by November 13.

Additionally, Minister Borche Serafimski highlighted increased social security measures, including a 100,000 denars nine-month maternity allowance for women engaged in agricultural activities. The budget for this social security program has been increased from two to two and a half million denars. The Minister emphasized the importance of making modern mechanization, digital solutions, and artificial intelligence more accessible to women through training and investment support.
