North Macedonia battles multiple wildfires in ten municipalities

The Center for Crisis Management (CUK) reported that, as of early morning, 16 open‑space fires had been extinguished across ten municipalities in North Macedonia, leaving the country without any active wildfires at 7 a.m. The fires affected areas such as Prilep, Radoviš, Gostivar, Kumanovo, Skopje‑Veles road, and others, involving low vegetation, straw, and debris.

Later updates indicated a total of five wildfires on the day, with two still active in the municipalities of Doleneni (village of Vranče) and Kichevo (behind the Jančica sports hall), one fire under control near Kavadarci (village of Dolna Bošava), and two fires already extinguished in Želino (village of Debarce) and Gostivar (village of Gorna Banjica). The CUK continued to monitor the situation and coordinate firefighting efforts.
