North Macedonia expands AI use in business and parliament

North Macedonia is seeing increased integration of artificial intelligence across both the private and public sectors. The startup Verba AI has developed a platform designed to centralize and automate customer communications. By consolidating channels such as Viber, Facebook, and Instagram into a single interface, the platform aims to automate up to 90% of routine customer interactions, allowing human staff to focus on more complex tasks.

In the public sector, the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia has signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Faculty of Information and Computer Science and Engineering (FINKI). This partnership focuses on implementing AI to process parliamentary documents, transcripts, and audiovisual materials. The initiative also includes developing tools for analyzing draft laws, machine translation, and creating a knowledge base for national and European legislation to increase transparency and efficiency.
