North Macedonia Interior Minister Pançe Toshkovski launches child protection centre and road‑safety campaign

The interior ministry of North Macedonia opened a new interview centre in Strumica for children who are in conflict with the law. The opening was attended by Interior Minister Pançe Toshkovski, Swedish Ambassador Ola Sulstrom and the OSCE mission head, and is part of a Swedish‑funded police‑reform initiative that will later be replicated in other cities such as Manastiri, Skopje and Tetovo.

In a separate event at the Tabanoc border crossing, Minister Toshkovski and Serbia’s interior minister Ivica Daçiq launched the joint “Vozisni të pushuar” (Rested Drivers) campaign. The programme targets driver fatigue during the summer tourism peak, providing water, educational leaflets and using the “One Stop” traffic‑monitoring system with cameras to record violations. The initiative aims to reduce accidents on Corridor 8 and Corridor 10 and reflects continued cooperation between Macedonian and Serbian traffic‑safety authorities.
