North Macedonia invests €183 million in new hospitals at Tetovo and Štip
The government of North Macedonia has approved major funding for two regional hospital projects. A €74 million investment will upgrade the Clinical Hospital in Tetovo, described as the largest historic investment for that institution.
An additional €109 million (approximately 6.7 billion denars) will complete the new Clinical Hospital in Štip, creating a modern regional health centre for eastern Macedonia. The Štip project will serve about 150,000 residents directly and roughly 250,000 people in its wider catch‑area. Both initiatives aim to provide better diagnostics, treatment and emergency care, reduce patient referrals to Skopje, and improve conditions for medical staff and students. The plans were presented by Health Minister Sasho Klekovski, Health Insurance Fund director Zlatko Perinski, Štip mayor Ivan Jordanov and a delegation from the World Bank, which reviewed technical, financial and quality‑control aspects of the projects.
