North Macedonia mineral concession fees reach 299 million denars in Q2 2026

The Ministry of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources reported stable collection of concession fees for the exploitation of mineral resources in the second quarter of 2026. Approximately 299.5 million denars were collected during this period, representing a slight increase from the 293.3 million denars collected in the same quarter of the previous year. Compared to the second quarter of 2024, when collections were 136.2 million denars, the current amount is more than double.

For the first half of 2026, total collected concession fees reached 573.9 million denars. This compares to 568.2 million denars in the first half of 2025 and 259.5 million denars in the first half of 2024. The Ministry attributed this growth to improved collection systems, increased fees, and enhanced institutional oversight of concessionaire obligations. The Ministry stated it will continue regular inspections and controls to ensure compliance with contractual and legal obligations and to protect the public interest.
