North Macedonia plans 6 billion euro transport infrastructure investment
North Macedonia is pursuing significant infrastructure investments totaling between five and six billion euros to leverage its strategic position at the intersection of European transport corridors. According to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Aleksandar Nikoloski, the focus is on developing Corridors 8 and 10.
Corridor 8 aims to connect the Adriatic and Black Seas via Albania, North Macedonia, and Bulgaria, while Corridor 10 serves as a vital north-south route. These investments are intended to reduce logistics costs, improve access to European markets, and attract foreign investment by enhancing the country's competitiveness as a transit hub.
The infrastructure activities have received positive assessments from the European Commission, the European Investment Bank, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
