North Macedonia Police Academy Opens New “7 May” School for 200 Cadets

The Ministry of Internal Affairs in North Macedonia has launched a competition to admit 200 students who have completed the second year of secondary education into the newly created Police High School “7 May”. The school, part of the Police Academy, will train the cadets at the Ministry’s Training Centre in Idrizovo, where 24 generations of officers have previously been educated.

Applications are open from 3 July for 15 days. Candidates must pass a three‑stage selection process – a motor‑skills test, a written general‑education test and an individual interview. The selection commission, chaired by the minister’s deputy, includes at least four members and their alternates. The enrolment procedure is expected to conclude by mid‑August, after which successful cadets will receive a guaranteed police officer position upon graduation.

The “7 May” school is named after North Macedonia’s Police Day and was established by a government decision following the adoption of a law on police secondary education in August of the previous year.
