North Macedonia police arrest five suspects in domestic‑violence cases
Over a 24‑hour period, police in several North Macedonian municipalities detained five men on suspicion of domestic violence. The incidents, reported in Veles, Kumanovë, Tetovo, Škupi and Ohër, totalled seven complaints, including two involving minors.
One suspect, L. N., 62, was found with a blood‑alcohol level of 0.70 ‰ after allegedly assaulting his teenage daughter and his 56‑year‑old wife. He was charged, placed in pre‑trial detention and sent to the Škupi correctional facility. Other arrests involved D. S., N. C., D. D. and A. N., each accused of physically assaulting spouses or children. In Tetovo, V. R. was hospitalized after injuring his 78‑year‑old mother with a sharp object. Authorities notified the public prosecutor and social services for each case.
