North Macedonia police arrest seven on domestic‑violence charges

North Macedonia police arrested seven individuals within a 24‑hour period on suspicion of domestic‑violence offenses. The arrests stem from nine reports filed at police stations across the country. Victims reported incidents ranging from physical assaults to threats with knives and objects. Arrested persons include a 51‑year‑old from Gjevgjelia, a 73‑year‑old from Skopje, a 44‑year‑old suspected of issuing threats at a family gathering near Skopje, among others from Tetovo, Karposh, and Kumanova. The police detailed each case, noting that arrests were made after the victims provided statements about assaults, threats, and property damage within their homes.

The operation highlights ongoing efforts by Macedonian law‑enforcement to respond to family‑related violence and enforce legal measures against perpetrators.
