North Macedonia seeks UN support for public administration reforms
North Macedonia’s Minister of Public Administration, Goran Minchev, met with Rita Columbia, the United Nations Coordinator in Macedonia, to discuss strengthening the country’s public administration. The discussions focused on deepening cooperation under the new UN–North Macedonia Cooperation Framework 2026–2030, with an emphasis on good governance and institutional development.
A central topic of the meeting was the planned Academy for Professional Development and Training of Civil Servants, which is expected to begin operations in 2027. The Ministry is seeking UN support in developing training programs, modules, and trainers to ensure that professional development becomes a continuous part of public administration.
Additionally, the parties discussed ongoing collaboration with the UNDP regarding the implementation of a Learning Management System (LMS). Minchev stated that the goal of these reforms is to create more efficient and professional institutions that serve the interests of citizens.
