North Macedonia begins planning Radovish-Bulgaria expressway
North Macedonia has launched the selection process for a consultancy firm to prepare documentation for a new expressway. The project will connect Radovish to the Bulgarian border via Strumica and Novo Selo.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Communications, Aleksandar Nikoloski, announced that the deadline for submitting bids for the consultancy services is October 8. The selected firm will be responsible for pre-project documentation, environmental and social studies, and feasibility studies. These studies are expected to take between six and nine months to complete, after which a tender for a contractor will be issued.
The project will be financed using the own funds of the Public Enterprise for State Roads, which Nikoloski noted is in good financial condition. If the selection processes proceed as planned, construction activities are expected to begin on the ground by next autumn.
