North Macedonia's Kichevo‑Ohrid Highway Secures $1 B Investment, Targeted for Q1 2027 Completion

Prime Minister Christian Micic said that more than one billion dollars has been invested in the Kichevo‑Ohrid highway project in North Macedonia. He noted that construction work is underway on the sections between Gostivar‑Bukočani and Kichevo‑Ohrid, with roughly half of the 30‑kilometre stretch already opened. Legal and land‑ownership matters for the urban segment have been settled, allowing the contractor to continue work.

Micic told reporters that, after a long period of stagnation, the road is expected to be completed no later than the first quarter of 2027. He thanked the Kichevo mayor and local officials for their cooperation with the municipal council and administration in advancing the project.
