North Macedonia's Tetovo‑Gostivar Highway to Open First Kilometers in 2027
Transport Minister Aleksandar Nikolloski announced that the first kilometre of the Tetovo‑Gostivar highway is expected to be completed next year, with the entire route slated for full completion by 2028. He said all land‑acquisition issues have been resolved and work is now focused on relocating water‑supply networks.
Nikolloski also detailed plans for a new railway corridor. Construction is set to begin next year on a line linking Skopje, Tetovo and Gostivar, with later phases extending to Kërçovë, Ohrid, Struga and ultimately to the Republic of Albania. The minister described the project as a means to introduce inter‑city trains, reduce traffic congestion and lower pollution.
